Port of the sigh of the Moor


The sigh of the Moor port is a mountain pass located near the city of Granada, Spain. It is a spur of the Sierra Nevada and serves as liaison between the Vega of Granada and the fertile valley Lecrín (or the valley of joy).

After the Catholic Kings snatch the last stronghold of the Muslim rule in the Iberian Peninsula, the Kingdom of Granada, Boabdil, the Spanish Muslim king of the Nasrid dynasty and his entourage were banished from Granada (1492) and I was given a small manor of the Alpujarras, which still hold years.
